Concord Orchestra Winter Chamber Series

Heather Beckman will be returning to Milwaukee this winter to share chamber and solo works at the Concord Orchestra’s first cycle of the new season. It will be a promising start for the Milwaukee-area orchestra after the pandemic closed their activities down for almost a year. After her debut with the Concord Orchestra last year, playing Barber’s ethereal violin concerto, Heather looks forward to playing sacred works by Bach in the beautiful St. Stephen’s cathedral. This will also be a special debut of the Solideo Quartet, in which they will make their first Midwest appearance, performing Mendelssohn’s String Quartet Op. 44 No. 2. One of the most intimate quartets of Mendelssohn, the lilting melodies, eager anticipation, and glorious harmonies present demonstrate the emotions and ideas Mendelssohn experienced during his first year of marriage. The program will also feature artists from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Further details of date, location, time, and COVID-19 precautions are available at cco.org.
